Jill has been a member since January of 2014, recently celebrating her 2nd anniversary. We can’t think of anyone we’d rather have represent Chalkline and what we stand for. Jill has an amazing attitude, is dedicated and works her tail off even when she’s scaling or modifying her WODs. Like most of us, she has a few limitations that require some modification, but she knows that isn’t an excuse to “take it easy”. She comes to work hard and does just that in every class! She’s also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet and will probably be the first one to introduce herself once you walk in.

What was your workout experience prior to Crossfit?
I tried several gyms and would go for a month or two and then stop because it was monotonous. I also swam and walked, which I still do.

What originally brought you to Chalkline?
I was focusing on dieting for weight loss and kept making excuses that I didn’t have time to exercise, but then I noticed I was playing Candy Crush or watching television for at least an hour a day and realized if I could do that, I could fit in exercise. I wanted something different and challenging, so I decided to give Crossfit a try.

What has been your biggest accomplishment since joining?
My biggest accomplishment since joining has been increased endurance. I can push myself at a higher level for a longer period of time. I was really proud of being able to run 2 miles but I now have a heel injury so I can’t run… but I’ll be back!

If someone were new to CrossFit, what would be your best advice or what would you like to tell them?
I would tell somebody who is new that Chalkline CrossFit is not intimidating! The coaches are amazing and the other athletes are incredibly supportive. Every activity can be modified to your ability and fitness level and you do not compete against anybody but yourself. You measure your goals against your previous performance and always see progress!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
What do you have to lose, give it a try! CrossFit may not be for everyone, but if you are reading this there si a good possibility it is for you and this could be the beginning of some amazing changes, physically and mentally!
